Summary

A set of three open lattice Christmas balls new for 2021. The difference between the three is just the amount of twist. All three are remarkably easy to print even though they're spherical. Each took about 7-8 hours to print.

These are a bit larger than the balls I published last year. These are 80mm wide (3.15 inch).

If you print them with the recommended settings, they will be very light.

The biggest challenge is getting the support to hold the ornament in place but release easily. I find the settings below work well with my printer and brand of PLA. You may need to make adjustments.

If you have your printer set too hot or have too little cooling, the ring at the top of the ornament could overheat and melt as it prints. I've made the ring large to minimize the problem. Increasing the wall thickness could increase the problem of overheating. Slower travel speed will give the previous layer more time to cool as the middle of the ring prints.

Walls: 0.4mm (you could go with 0.8mm, but it will increase the weight)
